Chapter 2: Exploring Oslo
Chasing the Aurora. A Journey Through Arctic Norway
Chapter 2: Exploring Oslo
We arrived in Oslo City early in the morning. It was raining when we landed. We waited for most of the group members to arrive, so a lot of our time was spent just sitting, drinking coffee, resting, and watching people pass by.

One random thing that I noticed was the toilet situation in the airport. They actually provide a plastic bag with soap so you can clean the toilet bowl after using it. A bit different for me, but also very considerate. Little cultural differences like this always catch my attention when I travel.
After almost an hour, our drivers, who were also our tour guides, finally picked us up. We rode in a Mercedes van which fully packed with luggage. But somehow everything was fit. Our tour guide mentioned that Oslo City has many Muslim immigrants, and there are many halal foods and some mosques around the city. Well, it's progress and comforting for Muslim travelers.

We stopped for food and ended up eating shawarma and döner. Honestly, simple food, but the price? Almost RM200+. That was my real "welcome to Norway" moment. Definitely an expensive country, haha:")
The, we arrived at the hotel in the evening; which rain had slowed, the sky was dim, and the city lights started to come on. Oslo felt quiet, calm, and a little cold. Exhausted but happy to finally be here.
